COCOON LULLABY

A BUTOH PERFORMANCE INSIDE A SPATIAL POETRY

COCOON LULLABY was a very special project I did with the dancer Kela Jurado, my wife. We conceived this performance for our daughter Ione while she was inside Kela’s womb.

It’s a metaphor of life, and represents how Kela’s and Ione’s dreams become physical.

Kela realizes a butoh performance while being surrounded by the screens, like the baby is in the interior world of the womb.

It’s a vital act, and thus it transmits a wonderful energy.
